Today Ukraine suffers a great deficiency in products of main organic synthesis and polymer materials. There is a need in multi-purpose materials, which could be developed in small lots.

Developed a process of the styrene copolymer production with maleic anhydride (styromales) with a molecular mass of 20000-70000. Styromales are useful materials, which can be used as a matrix for modification by various compounds giving products with a wide diapason of application from additions to suspensions (carbon,petrol and so) till medicinal purpose materials.

Etherification of styromals by fatty alcohols, including synthetic (C7-C9), being produced by industry via processing of solid paraffin’s oxidation by-products, allows obtaining materials applicable as a film-forming component in compositions for inks. 

Specifications for styromale etherificaton in dioxane via fatty alcohols have been developed. The products etherification degree is up to 60%.
