Whirlwind-impulse engine / Theme: Machine industry / / Authors: Dub Yuri Stefanovich /
Patrimonial name of the engine whirlwind-impulse engine (WIE) comes from the words of a whirlwind (turbulence) and the impulse, which in contrast to other known types of engines has filling of cells, in which during the giving off the working mixture the vortex is formed, because the combustion chamber in the transverse cut is like internal cavity of whistle. Impulse because, unlike the modern turbojet engine in which combustion with the formation of traction occurs ever, in WIE motion is formed with a series of explosions (impulses) in the combustion chambers that operate directly through the nozzle vanes in the impeller, which is mounted on the shaft. Shaft unlike piston engines, is straight and rotating at ball bearings. Each combustion chamber (hereinafter referred to camera) is a continuous self-pyrotechnic cartridge, with the device, detonations of which are formed in a spark plug which is supplied from the impulse generator which is synchronized with a engine rotations speed, similar to conventional engines. In the chamber the fuel goes directly to the pressure from 1 to 10 MPa (these are governed by engine speed), passing of the rotating parts (between the cells filled with air), hereinafter simply filler. Between the nozzle and the impeller seal was not necessary because the original design of the camera, the gap between mobile and immobile parts must be from 1,2 to 1,5 mm.
The optimal number of cells and there volume can be arbitrary, depending on the desired power that allows you to create engines with plenty of power and this in turn will dispense lesser gradation of transmission or even to dispense with the transmission. Chambers are located radially on the perimeter of the wall that separates the inner cavity of the engine compartment, in which the filler is located and which serves as the front support of shaft. Low camera length, filler, and the width of the working wheels predetermine a small length of the WIE. The ratio of length to the length of WIE and turbojet engine is a 1 to 3.4 at the same with the diameter and power. There is every reason to believe that the mass of WIE will be like the same ratio. Also, there is reason to believe that the utilization ratio of fuel (URF) in the WIE will be 90-92%, because he has no major sources through which fuel is used in modern engines only at 28-42% - that pistons, cylinders, radiators, exhaust manifolds , without which there can be modern engines. In WIE, all the mechanical energy of the explosion, not turning in the heat applied directly to the closed impeller vanes. There is no lubrication system in WIE, as there is the shaft, which rotates on ball. Engine fuel is not critical. Fuel for power WIE is a gasoline, natural gas, alcohol, kerosene, hydrogen, which are mixed with oxygen (from the atmosphere) form the explosive mixture, you can use diesel oil and other olive in the form of steam. It is possible the burning of gunpowder. WIE does not need materials not found in nature, it is built from the same materials as modern engines. Where appropriate to apply the WIE? Virtually no restrictions. There is every reason to believe that for their technical characteristics, which he has prevailed over the existing number of times, will simply not feasible and not profitable today's engines. In addition to replace a large share of electric motors, because WIE can work where inappropriate conduct electricity, it has significantly less weight per unit of power at the expense of copper and smaller quantities of steel in comparison with the electric motor. It can rotate a generator and produce three times cheaper power than current power plants, which exist at present. The engine differs with technological simplicity of design that provide the best possible implementation of a rapid, requires no lubrication and cooling of materials, because requires minimal maintenance and low qualification of staff.
