Branch of research: Materials science and high technologies Name of development: Utilization of ion-plasmous treatment (IPT) for product structural strength increase. Purpose of development: to increase reliability of machines and it`s longevity, at simultaneous decreasing of it`s material capacity. Technical characteristics: IPT by overcoating of carbides, nitrides and borides of refractory elements, used for increasing of tribological behaviors, antiknock resistance and in decorative aims. For enough adhesion of surface with basic metal, we need previously to conduct bombardment of element with ions, what is a part of the surface (IB). Our researches showed that utilization of IB products, made of structural steels, allows to increase it`s strength limit for 20%, conditional liquid limit for 37%, at the same time indices of plasticity – percent elongation and contraction – stay without changes (Ψ even has rising tendency 3-4%) overcoating of covering extra increases indices of strength for few percent, but because of sizable duration of the process it is unsuitable for utilization. Thus IB makes for reliability and longevity increasing of separated details and of construction as a whole. Advantages of development: there are no analogues, as all other methods of influence on the surface (case-hardening, surface treatment, covering overcoating) increase hardness and durability, but have no influence, or (often) worsen structural strength through loss of plasticity. Development description: IB causes simultaneously increasing of strength and changes of mechanism of plastic deformation in blankets, that is possitively reflected on structural strength. Conditions of treatment are set depend on sort of material, it`s thermo-treatment, form and weight. Duration of treatment process is 1-10min. (excluding prior operations). Work surface doesn`t need special preparation. Utilization of IPT available for products made of non-ferrous metals and alloys.
